That's what happens when I haven't had more than 2 hours of sleep per night in 4 months. I still mean everything I say, but I don't necessarily express it tactfully.

I don't care whether anyone makes money from it or not; it's still unauthorized distribution. I won't go so far as to call it "theft," but it's inarguably using something that's not yours without asking first.

That aside, I don't have a beef with people writing fanfic (though anyone who got it into their head to use my characters would be in for whatever I could afford to throw at them). The big problem isn't the writing; it's the distributing.

That's my professional writer voice. In my individual human voice, it's a personal violation.
