Took Thursday off work to catch up on sleep loss due to the heat. Slept like a log for 5 hours so I clearly needed it. Talk about last minute though, I basically rang at 8.45am and said "Hi TooTall! I know it's short notice but can I take today off as a holiday?" And he said yes, bless 'im, cos he knows darn well I had bugger all to do :)
*pokes bank account* Get out of the overdraft dammit! I must get a statement and find out where the damn money went.
Talking of NCIS, been watching the download of S2 (I was too impatient to wait for the DVD release later this year). I'm happy to say that I've been coping quite well without subtitles which is a relief but then NCIS are better about not blaring music out during scenes. Except the scenes with Abby and I can get the gist of those cos the Gibbs character means everything is spelt out in plain English and I usually make out enough of that to not miss out too much :)
Yes, I do know what happens at the end of S2 so at least I'm not going to stumble on that episode unawares. And I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean I like Kate in the sense that she holds her own with the boys and I live in hope that she manages to smite DiNozzo majorly before she departs, but I'm not sure I'll miss the character. I've seen a couple of S3 eps and I really like the replacement so it's no biggie. Had I been watching this unspoiled, I expect my reactions would have been as "OMGWTFBBQ!!" as the rest of the fanbase last year.
Why oh why would anyone employ a character like Tony DiNozzo?? Seriously, I still like him but he's a real twat in most of S2. I hope they even out his character a bit in S3.
David McCallum continues to rock my world. Best line from season so far:-
Kate: What did Ducky look like when he was younger?
Gibbs: Illya Kuryakin
I like the new young morgue guy, he's funny :) And cute. But mostly funny :)
Gibbs is such a bastard and I love him :)
McGee - irritating and cute in about equal measure. Although now that he's started giving a bit of what he gets from the others, I'm warming up to him. I hate total dweebs.
Ever wonder who interviewed Abby for the job? *giggles* That's something I wish they'd do a flashback of sometime :)
