After leaving it as late as is really feasible, I have finally booked my flights and first hotel for the trip to Toronto. For the latter half of the stay, I'll be in the convention hotel but I needed somewhere cheaper for the first part of the week. After a five hour nightmare trawl round websites, I finally found a hotel that was a) near to the downtown sights b) not extortionate and c) had rooms with en suite bathrooms. I'm fussy about bathrooms :P That and I nearly always get up at night and dislike having to make myself decent to stumble down a hallway to find the loo.
The flight was less painful once I'd worked out BMI's prices weren't what I'd actually pay. I've got a reasonable priced flight from Air Canada, which has a good rep so I'm hoping it'll be a nice plane with comfy seats. Shorter flying times than I'm used to, too, under 8 hours, which will make a NICE change.
I've also booked long term parking at Heathrow for convenience - Purple Parking is good, but a pain in the arse to find and means leaving even earlier, plus other hassles like having to phone them when you get back to be collected etc. It is only £10 to park in the Long Term parking at the airport with the convenience of shuttles at very regular intervals day and night. I figure I'm spending £350 on the flight and a minimum of £90 on the parking, why quibble over an extra tenner?
So that's flight, hotel and airport parking sorted. All that's left is the trip to Niagra Falls and I need my pal Jenni to be online for that ;)
I deserve tea *scampers off*
