mitchy at 01:54pm on 13/12/2004I didn't mention it in my review of the weekend, but on the walk from the pub to the Embankment Tube station on Saturday, we went past Trafalgar Square, which gave me a chance to see the Christmas Tree.
I love this tree, I really do. And it meant a lot to see it this year, given my earlier post about my Dad's ring. Every Boxing Day we used to drive down to Brighton to visit my cousins. Before the M25 and other SE motorways, the only way to reach the South Coast was through London. On the way home, as a special treat, Dad always took a detour to Trafalgar so that I could see the tree. It was an unhappy trip home if I didn't see it, let me tell you.
So the tree and happy Christmases are inextricably linked. I love that tree and I'm glad I saw it this weekend. :)
