I did my pork loin steak marinade again and it was superb! This time, in addition to the dark soy sauce, black pepper, honey and olive oil, I added a splash of sesame oil and maybe half a teaspoon of ginger. I deeply scored the meat and left it soaking overnight.
Mmmm-MMMMMMMMMMMM.
I'm doing that again! It was GORGEOUS!!!
And I did me a super sauce, and ever so simple. I just heated some double cream and stirred in some English mustard. *starts to drool* Inspired, even if I say it as shouldn't.
Served with some Uncle Ben's Chinese rice and it was a meal fit for a Queen. Or a hungry Mitchy :)
Then there was dessert. I boiled a tin of condensed milk, turning my kitchen into a swamp in the process - I must remember to open a window next time so the steam can escape! Anyway, it paid off, the condensed milk reduced down to this wonderful toffee-like mixture. Thank you, Gary Rhodes, for showing this on one of your shows! I did a large baked apple and served it with some whipped cream and a spoonful or two of the hot toffee sauce.
*swoons*
I died and went to heaven :)
Course, it's no good if you're wanting to lose weight *sighs* I need to ninja some low-cal recipes! But until I do, I'll just have to finish off the yummy stuff I have left over.
