I made a tactical error last night. I let the cat sleep in my room. *sighs* I don't normally, but he was being all cute and wanting to be near me and stuff, so I weakened. On a night when I had a chance at eight hours sleep, this wouldn't have been a stupid move. However, it was a night when I got to bed at 3am, failed to get to sleep until 5am and was thus woken up by the aforementioned furball sitting on my arm at some unholy hour and insisting I get up and feed him.
Hnnnnnnggggghhh.
I wanted to be up early today, but not that early. Oh well. At least it did ensure I was up for a sensible time and could thus start the job hunting. I have a new plan - carpet bombing. I am going to apply for five jobs a day, either online or otherwise, until I get something. I figure the law of averages should ensure I get at least one job interview if I'm persistent enough. And I need to be persistent. I've reached the point where I start to snarl if people ask me how the search is going and they're only being concerned and polite. Besides, I NEED to start getting some income soon, or I'm going to be a broke and in trouble Mitchy.
In addition to the applications for permanent positions, I need to investigate the possibilities of temping. I shall do that tomorrow and apply for 5 temp positions.
Be nice to me and don't ask me how it's going for a little while. I love you all and I don't want to accidentally snarl and bite you. *hugs all round*
*yawns* At least I've met my quota for today - 5 jobs applied for, 3 of which I think I have a shot at, one's a big maybe and one's a "not a hope in hell but at that salary, I'd be stupid to not at least try for the post" :)
A nap may be in my future. Minus a furball. To be fair, it wasn't HIS fault I subscribed to the Major League Baseball Live Baseball Game service last night so that I have a month of being able to watch baseball games. Oh how I hate time zones, pesky things ruin my sleep patterns!
