So, what's the work situation, Mitchy, I don't hear anyone cry?

It's like this, petals.

I have two part time jobs at Herts County Council, which together give me a shade under the normal number of hours I need a week.

One is at Family Placement, in Bengeo (Monday, Friday all day, Weds afternoons) which I really like - good job, nice people, nice place to be. That one finishes on the 26th September. Annoyingly, the post I'm in was advertised just before I joined ( I think the closing date was my first day) so I couldn't apply for the permanent post :( Pity, because I think they'd have given it to me. Ah well. The person who's got the job is only on a six month secondment - maybe I'll get a shot at it next year.

Ahh, but Mitchy, don't you need a full time job?

Yes, yes I do, but the situation at FP is interesting. The ladies in the admin office keep reducing their hours and eventually, I know, they will have enough "spare" hours to have a full time person in the office again. I'd like that to be me :)

The other job is for CSF Finance (Children, Schools and Families) at County Hall (Tues, Thurs all day, Weds mornings) - not so much fun, this one, mostly tedious data entry, invoice processing. Not as enamoured of the people in there either, but that's getting changed around a bit, as people are leaving and/or moving positions. Normally, as this job finishes at the end of the month, I wouldn't care but I have every reason to believe a full time post or two might be available there and I've got a good shot at that. Hrm. Now a full time post would be good, but the salary is not that high, and would be about £1000 less than I actually need to earn. However, again, there's potential. *shrugs* it's not as if I've got a big, expensive holiday planned next year, I could manage. Just. I would have to take out a loan to do anything major to the flat though, no way could I fund it as is, but that would be true of practically any job I got now, unless I managed to break the £20k barrier.

So it's all happening. Things are going to happen over the course of September, I suspect, so I shall keep you all informed :)
