mitchy: (In your eye!)
It dawned on me this afternoon that the latest issue of Empire magazine came out last week and I still didn't have my copy. This isn't like me, normally I start haunting the newsagents around the 28th of every month, just in case they've put the issue out early :) So I thought I'd nip out to Tesco's, grab a copy, get a few bits of shopping and all would be groovy.

Headed over to Tesco's, which was chaotic as it always is on a Sunday, and elbowed my way around to the right section of the magazines. Ack! They have a copy but it's been ripped out of the plastic baggie that this issue comes in and is minus all the really cool free posters. Grr! I hate people who do that! I growled, eyed the seething store and decided not to shop but to go into WGC town centre, go to Smith's, get my mag and then nip up to Sainsbury's.

Driving back from Tesco's, I have to pass a garage and it occurred to me I could stop in there and see if they had Empire, because I knew they did magazines. "Nah," I thought, "they won't have it, I'll go to Smiths." *sighs*

So I get into the town centre and Smith's not only didn't have any Empire mags, they seem to have abandoned movie magazines completely. Either that or they were descended on by locusts :P I groused a bit and trudged up towards Sainsbury's. I may have, umm, accidentally fallen into Blockbuster on the way past and coughmumbleboughts3dvdsfor£18coughmumble. Constantine, Sleepy Hollow and Zulu, since you ask. Ahem. Anyway, got what I needed in Sainsbury's and trudged back through the rain to the car park. On the way out I thought "You know, I may as well nip back and just check out that garage..."

Guess what they had? Yep, you guessed, lots of copies of Empire. So YAY I got my mag but Ack! Next time I will follow my first instincts and save myself some trouble and money :)

Anyway, I made it back in plenty of time for the football and the digibox behaved itself pretty well (I've got to book an engineer, because I keep losing picture and sound) and I was able to enjoy the game. Man U v. Chelsea and Man U won. I'm not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, heheheheeheh, Chelsea lost! Ahahahaha! On the other, I hate it when Sir Alex of Ferguson gets to gloat :P It was a great game though *nodsnods*

And now I'm curled up and pondering whether to watch a DVD, read or carry on watching trashy TV. So far TV is winning :)
