I've been quiet on LJ mostly because I've had nothing to say. There's only so many times you can type "Got up, went to work, worked bloody hard, came home, went to bed, Got up etc."

This weekend I've just chilled totally, got caught up on some of my US TV shows. Battlestar Galactica continues to be amazing, and I can't wait for the episodes to air here so I can discuss them without spoiling people for the shocks that are to come :) Numb3rs is still good, though the whole "Larry in Space" storyline is just stupid but as ways go of writing a character out temporarily, I guess it works. You can just imagine the scriptwriters meeting. "How the hell do we write Larry out for x weeks while Peter MacNichol is off gallivanting on "24"?" "Pity we couldn't just shoot him into space.." "Saaaaay....." Much fun is being had by a Mitchy spotting all the creative ways they've come up with to hide Diane Farr's pregnancy. Seriously, whole scenes are choreographed to perfection :)

I'm currently catching up on Grey's Anatomy, which still blows me away with the quality of the writing and the acting. One minute it makes me bawl and slink onto AIM to find someone to hug (quote responsible for this is below), the next it makes me laugh out loud enough to scare the cat. In the same episode. And it works, it doesn't grate. Amazing stuff. One more episode to go then I can move onto catching up on "Without A Trace". Then there's NCIS, Cold Case and House, although I may just wait for House to come on over here, it should be starting soon. Cold Case I will download at some point as its never been released on DVD and may never be, so I pretty much have to snag it when I can :)

On my wish list this year - saving up enough pences to buy a Tivo or something like it. I need something to record stuff on, I don't have a video player any more, I gave mine to Aunty Eve. Way I see it, I'm probably not flying anywhere this year so instead of a holiday, I could save up for a shiny toy. Well either Tivo or a new digital camera. Ohh a tough choice.

That Grey's quote that made me bawl - brilliant writing, brilliantly acted and so, so true, for whichever parent you lose.

Cristina: There's a club, a Dead Dads club and you can't be in it until you're in it. Well, you can try and understand. You can sympathize but until you feel that loss... My dad died when I was nine. George, I'm really sorry you had to join the club.
George: I... I don't know how to... exist in a world where my dad doesn't.
Cristina: Yeah... that never really changes.
Mood:: 'thoughtful' thoughtful
