I spent Friday with the ever lovely
d_floorlandmine, having discovered a while ago that we both like bad/good movies and thus organising a movie fest for our mutual enjoyment.
Driving there was a bit of an adventure. I did have directions but there are some things directions just don't prepare you for. Like, for instance, the middle lane of a junction helpfully being labelled "Croydon" when, in fact, it actually doesn't go to Croydon, but takes you around the junction and off in another direction. Or the vicious dogleg that requires you to be on the right hand lane turning right over a bridge and then needing to be in the left hand lane to turn left. What with the unplanned detours and the Good Friday traffic it took me two hours to get there, but I made it intact, hurrah!
d_floorlandmine fed me tea and guided me to the local shops where cider was purchased. Then we settled in for an afternoon/evening of totally trashy top quality martial arts films :)
( The movies )
Then it was time for me to head home. The traffic wasn't too bad, although there was one delay on the M25 due to an accident (and if anyone on my flist is contemplating using the M1 today - don't) and I got back in about an hour and 40 minutes. Not a bad journey at all and it'll be lots easier now that I've done it once :)
Thank you to
d_floorlandmine for a great movie fest! I had lots of fun :)
