Scribblings from the Mitchy Side

It went well. The weather was dry when we needed it to be, there was a very good turn out - Aunty Eve would have been astonished - and the service was absolutely wonderful.

I saw several familiar faces that I've bumped into over the years of knowing Aunty Eve...and they all knew me! Apparently she talked about me a lot :) Aww. One interesting wrinkle - a stepsister I haven't spoken to in 9 years showed up. I was very surprised and touched that she came, although I knew she'd kept in touch periodically with Eve. It was good to catch up and have a natter. Whether we'll keep in touch remains to be seen but either way, I'm glad she came.

I am glad I had the foresight to book today off though. I was absolutely whacked last night, emotionally and physically. It's been good to relax today and chill out. The only thing I've done today is ring a solicitor to make an appointment to discuss the will - I've been given no advice at all by the executors and while I'm sure they're lovely people, I don't want any nasty surprises later. It was Battleship at work who pointed out that I could get clobbered by the Inheritance Tax if I wasn't careful, not the executors of the estate. Hmf.

And now there is the sofa and more tea and possibly a nap. *snugses to all that needs 'em*
