[livejournal.com profile] mitchy is, in the words of the hospital, "doing okay" post surgery (navigating the QE2's phone system is like some kind of strange Gordian Knot o_0) and should be fine for visitors today if anyone was planning to go see her. The hours are 2:30 to 4 and 6 to 8. Hopefully I'll be able to talk to her later today :)

This one comes courtesy of the lovely [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel who went to visit

[livejournal.com profile] mitchy's alive.

She's hooked up to so many tubes & pumps that she's very nearly More Machine Than Mitchy, and she's in major pain, but she's alive and getting slowly better. I was particularly impressed by her unlimited on-demand morphine. (As she said, she's somewhat scared of what the pain would be like without the happy button and the epidural because it's varying between 6 and 8 out of 10 with them.) Other tubes are to get her more hydrated - her veins have taken to burrowing deep beneath the flesh when threatened with needles or any other medical apparatus, and frankly, who can blame them?

She's been moved to the bay, which is good in terms of her getting more drive-by nursing, but bloody annoying in terms of being across from a dotty old lady who randomly sings and thinks everything that moves is a nurse. Oh, and being much closer to the nurse-call buzzer which goes off every time someone wants the nurse until the nurse gets there. (see above re: dotty old ladies.) The nurses seem lovely, though, and they're taking good care of her. Many of them have got the hang of standing on her right to talk to her.
