Well so much for my energetic day - The Unit Season 2 arrived this morning :D That's my day fully booked! *giggles*

I spent yesterday evening playing with the iPod. First of all, the bad news - I had to delete everything [livejournal.com profile] halcyon_shift installed. Seems because she used a Mac to configure it, it refused to play with my PC until the factory settings were restored. Wouldn't let me download anything off the iPod either. However, there's good news! [livejournal.com profile] halcyon_shift is saving all the files and putting them onto DVD for me so I can re-install the stuff from my PC in the future. Yay! And [livejournal.com profile] nmalfoy is making me some mix cds of great music so I can add those at some point in the future. Eeeee!

Now, are there any iPod users on my flist? Preferably PC users? I just want to find out if you have problems getting stuff from iTunes to the iPod? I used sync but I don't like it because it doesn't let me edit anything afterwards. And if you switch to manual sync, it bloody deletes everything you just downloaded. Stupid system! What am I missing out on here? Also. in manual sync, I couldn't figure out HOW to get the bloody stuff onto the iPod. I could see albums in my library but it wouldn't let me drag and drop 'em onto the iPod UNTIL i created a playlist, THEN it let me. *shakes head* Yes, I have a manual but it's not terribly helpful, so any advice?

Rob got a present this morning too - a new fleece cat blanket. I wanted something smarter and easier to wash to put on the sofa. If it works well, I'll order some more so I can rotate them. Now I'm just waiting for his new cat bed to arrive. Oh I hope he likes it, it'll make life easier when I get rid of the old sofa that he likes to hide behind. I'm hoping the cave like cat bed will give him somewhere else to retreat to *crosses fingers he takes to it*

And now I have tea and disc 1 is in the PC. Must go, these DVDs won't watch themselves y'know *happy*

OK, I've got Region 2 DVDs which should work just fine on my PC. But they're not playing. Neither Windows Media Player or RealPlayer show anything on the screen. VLC Media Player plays it but the picture keeps breaking up and the sound is ropey. I've had this problem before, thought I'd solved it by downloading a codec pack. Clearly not *sighs* I've got DVD43 installed and that's saying the DVD is good to go, all region killed and shit. So what can I do? I can only assume I'm missing a codec or something but how do I find out what I need?

And why VLC is being ropey with DVDs I don't know, it didn't use to be. Maybe I should try re-installing it? Hmm. *goes to try that*
