I was in Tesco's earlier this week as their own brand of senior cat food is one the furball deems so acceptable, he ignored the fact I was opening the cupboard behind him, causing his backside to ride up the door, in favour of keeping his snout in his food bowl. Once I'd stopped giggling helplessly, I decided that that was as good a reason to trek to Tesco's after work as any :)
They had a special offer on the deli counter while I was there, for this "Champagne infused marmalade ham". Now I have a love/hate relationship with ham. As a kid, I HATED ham sandwiches with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. This was due, I think, to the horrible, dry, tasteless sarnies I had to eat countless times as a kid when having tea at my Nan's house. And she used mustard, which I wasn't a fan of back then. As an adult, I've come to like ham sarnies, though I still prefer ham paired with something else, like tomato or egg. And a melted cheese 'n' ham toastie is heaven on a plate. But I've not really been a fan of ham in and of itself, until I tried that champagne infused stuff. Oooh gods, it was GORGEOUS! I finally saw how tasty ham can be. I bought a coupla slices (all I could afford, it was understandably expensive, even on special offer) and I scoffed them earlier today, as part of a main course. And it was delicious! So now I'm thinking I might treat myself to a small ham joint for Christmas, although I might have to see if I can get a pre-cooked one, because I don't own any really big pans. I have to go down to Rainham before Christmas, I might see what's in the farm shop down there. Anyone have any sage advice about buying ham?
*streeetches* In other non-news, Sunday has been perfectly relaxing. Two good football matches have gone by and later on, there'll be a new episode of Fringe, which really seems to have kicked up a gear. If any of you gave up after episode two or three, I do suggest a re-visit.
Leverage starts airing in the US tonight, with the official broadcast of the pilot episode. Eee! And then on Tuesday, episode 2 will air on what will be its regular night. *pats uTorrent* I'll be ready Wednesday morning, oh yes. Another show I seriously recommend to my flist - if you like shows you know I like, do try and check this one out. I'll be squeaking about it a lot over the next few weeks :)

halcyon_shift and
803am malevolently*, I watched my first episode of Merlin yesterday. And damned it it didn't suck me in to the point that I know I'll be watching next week. *sighs* I blame Anthony Head, too, for being so damn good as Uther. Bah. At least it is a notch or three above Robin Hood, there is no way I could sit through another show as bad as that!
