Scribblings from the Mitchy Side

I got out and about! Both days! Goodness, I have no idea what came over me :D

Saturday was supposed to be spent drinking but thessalian wimped out on me (bad headache, poor thing) so I went to see Stevenage play instead. Good game, cracking atmosphere (both sets of supporters were getting well into exchanging insults), bit of niggle on the pitch, both teams going for the win. Lovely stuff :) Finished 2-2, which was just about fair.

Sunday I did the shopping and then hied myself off to Knebworth House for an East of England Food Festival. Sounds grander than it actually was, but it was still pretty decent. Three very large tents stuffed full of specialist food stalls, two cookery demonstration tents, couple of craft tents and many food and drinks stalls. I found a cheese stall doing a deal - 3 cheeses, 1 pack of oatcakes and 1 jar of chutney for a tenner. I got apple smoked, extra strong and cheddar with cranberries for my three cheeses (all tried in advance, all deee-licious) and the red onion chutney, which is gorgeous. Also, a rare chutney that has no tomatoes in it so is safe for me to eat :D I had a REALLY NICE lunch on Sunday! :D

In between the outings, there was much watching of sport. Arsenal v. Liverpool sucked (great game, but I wanted Arse to win which they spectacularly failed to do in the 8th minute of extra time) but watching Man City bundle Man Utd out of the FA Cup made my entire weekend :)

So it was a good weekend. Huzzah! And a 4 day week this week and 3 day week next week - life is good! :D
