I have no idea what came over me this morning. I woke up early (6am) and couldn't get back to sleep, so I gave up and got up. By 8am I was bored :P So I got off my backside and got out of the house. First I went over to town to MickeyD's and treated myself to the new breakfast wrap they've been advertising to death. It's not bad, not bad at all, but I still prefer the sausage and egg mcmuffin breakfast :)
Having slurped a cup of excellent coffee, I scampered over to Edgware to drop off a humane mouse trap for
thalinoviel, whose moggy brought a mousey in the other day and then released it into the wilds of the house. Job done, I toyed with heading over to RAF Hendon, which isn't far away, but I fancied an outdoor walk. So I went back to WGC and parked at Stanborough Lakes, where I walked around both the south and north lakes and the Nature Reserve. It was very quiet, apart from fisherman and a few dog walkers, there was no-one around. Didn't see much wildlife, although the usual ducks were in evidence: I was hoping to maybe see a kingfisher or a woodpecker. But I DID see one of the resident herons, stalking the river and doubtless hunting for his brunch :) Naturally I didn't have the camera with me but I'll try and remember it for next time.
Got back home at 12 and promptly had a protracted nap to make up for the lack of sleep. Still, a pretty productive day. I really have got to remember it's worth the effort getting out and about, I do enjoy the exercise when I can be bothered to take it :)
