Scribblings from the Mitchy Side

So I'm back at dear old County Hall for this week, maaaaybe next week, working for the Energy Management Team again. If you've lost track, that's the department I spent last year with on secondment, only last time they were based around the corner from me in the WGC offices. Now they've moved departments and are based at County Hall, oddly enough on the same floor I was on with School Funding, albeit different end of the building. (I keep coming out of the Ladies and turning right to towards the SFU offices, instead of left to the EMT ones. Only done that, oooh, every time I've used the Ladies so far *facepalms*)

It's lovely to work with the EMT colleagues again, I've missed them. The actual job is exceptionally tedious - checking differences in energy consumption across two financial years, and inventing providing reasons why this might be so. *yawns* But I'm frankly thrilled they thought of me and insisted on using me, even though it meant making Manpower jump through hoops last Friday to get me on the books so I could start yesterday :) (Of course, I have the huge advantage of knowing a lot of EMT stuff already. It'd be tough for someone with no experience at all to come in and do this, I think. Not impossible, but they'd be slow to get off the ground.)

The only real disappointment is that I'm sat too far away from Liz and Martina to talk or share their conversations, so I'm not really getting to catch up with them, which is a bit of shame. Ah well. I shall be having lunch with some of the School Funding folks on Thursday and I will be able to catch up with them, get all the latest gossip :)

Also - mornings still suck :P
