..couple of other new shows I've been really enjoying are "Scorpion" and "NCIS:New Orleans". Scorpion kinda reminds me of Numb3rs, except instead of one genius they have four and cover a full range of abilities, not just maths. It's kinda based on a true story, in the sense of the characters is based on a real life person, but apart from that, it's enjoyable tosh :D Also it stars Robert Patrick who does deadpan with the best of them and is always worth watching. I'm not sure if they can sustain my interest but they've got my attention so far. I am, however, hopelessly behind and need to catch up.

NCIS:N'awlins has a major advantage over over the mother show in that it's filmed on location, which does let us get a look see at a fascinating part of America. However, I feel the location is being criminally underused, because many of the stories so far could be plunked down anywhere. And when it is used, it's clumsy and overdone. BUT the characters are excellent and the cast is great - Scott Bakula is always value for money and I'm loving Lucas Black, whom I've not seen before - so it's currently listed under "guilty pleasures" and we'll see if it has the legs or clout of either the two other shows. Sidebar: I stopped watching NCIS about 3 seasons ago, although I'll dip in now and again if I hear good things (the Christmas episode that aired recently focussing on McGee was beautiful). I adore NCIS:LA unreservedly, entirely because of the cast and the banter.

Talking of Guilty Pleasures, "The Librarians" is a fun way to pass an hour. It's by the same team behind "Leverage" but I don't think it's going to reach the heights of that show. I'd rate it higher but it's acutally really difficult to follow without subtitles so I have to get hold of the script before I watch it and try and read it during advert breaks for anything I've missed. If I was sure it'd be released on DVD, I'd stop watching and wait for the DVD set :)

Of new shows that failed to hold my attention there was "Forever", which I really wanted to like because I like Ioan Gruffodd and adore Judd Hirsch, but I missed it one week and didn't realise for another week that it was on. Not a good sign :P If I don't actually care about what I missed, then I skip it and watch something I do care about. I've also gone lukewarm on "The Flash" which I enjoyed for about three episodes and then got bored. I may try it again, the cross over with "Arrow" was excellent and got me re-watching that show, so it did me a favour. I'm not sure why it's not sticking with me, there's no obvious reason, so maybe 'm just not in the right frame of mind :)
