1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
I saw the Mets play at Shea Stadium and it was FANTABULOUS!!! *bounces happily*
2. Did you keep your New Year’s Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
*prods waistline* Umm no. I'll probably make the same resolution again though. Gotta take one of these years :)
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not close to me, no, but a colleague at work I like gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl in November and someone I used to know in Cambridge via the ex-b/f gave birth to a baby boy.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No. Thank you 2006 for not emulating 2005
5. What countries did you visit?
USA.
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Better finances. I'd say "better job" but actually I still secretly hope to keep the one I have but on a proper salary.
7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
May 5th - See answer to 1 :)
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Personally? Umm. Didn't achieve much career/money wise, but seeing the Mets was a goal :)
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not taking control of my finances sooner.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Got hit by a lurgy in September that kept me off work 3 days. Also got hit by a lurgy just before my birthday which took the shine off things, dammit.
11. What was the best thing someone bought you?
I got lots of lovely things from great people but the best was the Mr Met doll
jenni411 bought me at Shea. It was love at first sight :)
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My friends, who've gone above and beyond in helping me recently, even though it's my own stupid fault I'm in the pickle I'm in. *hugs you all* You know who you are.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
My current employers, who have developed procrastination into an art form, and are spending my taxes in doing it.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Let's not talk about this....

No. There may have been moments of lust though :)
22. How many one night stands?
Y'know, I almost wish I'd had some. Would make these memes much more interesting :P
23. What was your favourite TV program?
Just one? Oh have a heart! Err. If pushed, I'd pick Grey's Anatomy, for that "MUSTWATCHNEXTEPISODERIGHTTHISSECONDNOW!!" factor. Numb3rs was a fantastic discovery this year and CSI:NY surprised me and got me hooked. And I still have deep Without A Trace and BSG love.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I don't hate anyone at all, it's too strong an emotion. I still dislike ShitStirrer a hell of a lot, but I don't hate her :)
25. What was the best book you read?
Not read much at all, this is actually getting rather worrying. I need to improve that in 2007. Actually, let's add that to my answer to the question about NY resolutions :) Right now, I'm drawing a blank on a standout book.
jenni411, did I rave about a book in particular, that you can recall?
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Ooh, actually, I can answer this :) KT Tunstall!
29. What was your favourite film of this year?
Well, haven't seen the new Bond yet, so this may well change, but so far it's Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Serenity is a darn close second.
30. What did you do on your birthday?
Went to Belgos with chums, had fruit beers!
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Getting a well paid job
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
AHAHAHAHAH! Gods, I have so few clothes, it's not like I have choices, y'know? Err, probably best summed up by "What's clean and doesn't need ironing?"
33. What kept you sane?
My friends and RP.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Don't really do that, though any good looking actor is likely to make me go "mmmm"
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
ID cards. About the only thing I took an interest in, sad to say.
36. Who do you miss?
Same people as last year
37. Who was the best new person you met?
smokingboot :)
38. What was the best thing you ate?
Oooh had a meal at a restaurant in New York that was gorgeous :) Battered shrimp to die for. And Belgo's has consistently been good value for money. I'm remembering the chocolate cheesecake in particular *sighs happily*
