Better Day

So I went and saw Aunty Eve and it was all good :) We actually had a giggle over the kerfuffle yesterday and I made her laugh by describing the panic I went into when I woke up. We had a great lunch at The Snoring Owl and the usual wrangle over the bill which was finally settled by going halves. She's still very wobbly but she seems much better health-wise which is a Good Thing.

I meant to post about this on Friday. PartyGirl's youngest son is 10 and he's completely obsessed with football. He plays for a local team and they've been doing very well, reaching the semi-finals of whatever competition it is that they compete in. The semi-final game was yesterday. However, last week, the poor lad was really poorly and off school from the Tuesday. Friday morning he's due to go in but as PartyGirl walked past his bedroom door, she thought she could hear snuffling. Puzzled, she went inside and found that he'd tucked himself down behind some furniture and was crying his heart out. When asked what on earth was wrong, he sobbed "I really *sob* don't feel well an' if I don't go to *hic* school today, you won't let me play the match tomorrooooow! Waaaah!"

Aww! Bless his little heart. I don't know about anyone else but I can remember there being things that mattered that much to me when I was that age. PartyGirl said all she could do was cuddle him to bits. She talked to her hubby who was scheduled to go to a business meeting, and it was arranged that her son could go with him and sit quietly with his DS for an hour or two and then come home with his Dad and just rest that afternoon.

Well the story has a wonderful ending. PartyGirl texted me yesterday to tell me that her boy had been well enough to play, had scored a goal and his team had won 5-0! Awwww :)

Sometimes it works out like it should :)
