Meme!

There's yet another "Guess the song from the lyrics" music meme going around atm and I wanna play too. But as I don't have any music on this PoS PC or an MP3 player with music on it, I'm going to have to do this pretty much from memory. ETA: Heh, this ended up as kind of a musical history of a Mitchy, although not strictly in order. If anyone gets no. 3 without extensive Googling, 'm gonna be impressed.

The current meme suggests 40 lyrics but the thought of doing that is making my brain cry so I'm gonna do 20 :)

Crap? CRAP?! I resent that remark :)

Sadly I am a child of the 70s and 80s when it comes to music... and the 70s, in particular, was hardly a golden era.... ;)

Ah, memories. I had a bloke try to chat me up by telling me Seasons In The Sun was his favourite song, once. "Try" being the operative word.

I assume I heard Car 67 on the radio in my youth. "Is there anything else you want me to do... you know I'm only here to please you..." Doesn't sound like any minicab driver _I've_ ever encountered.

I have a very good memory for song lyrics. If I could get that chunk of brain back to use for something more useful...

This is because he's not talking to the customer but to the controller :) The song was interspersed with comments from aforementioned controller. The band name (I think it was just one guy, officially) was Driver 67. This was their only hit.

Oh yes, I knew he was talking to the controller, but I haven't heard drivers talking to their controllers like that either ;)
