*headdesk* (and a question for [livejournal.com profile] cookwitch)

I r so smart. I appear to have thrown out my English language copy of the instructions for my camera. *eyes lounge* Unless it's lurking somewhere obscure, I shall hunt again in a minute. *shakes head* Such a dim mousey!

In the meantime, [livejournal.com profile] cookwitch and any other camera savvy person - what am I doing wrong? I take 8 pics with my shiny new camera and the memory card says it's full! 8 pics take up 16mb of memory? They appear to be huge pics. Should I have upgraded to a better memory card or is there a setting or two I can tweak or something I should/should not be doing?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice :)

Well thanks to the tweak [livejournal.com profile] cookwitch suggested, I should be able to get a few more pics on there. That'll have to do until I can save up for a new card :)

Thanks!

Yeah, I thought about suggesting looking for a resolution setting, but 16Mb is honestly so small... what type of card does it actually take? If it's SD, I've seen decent sized ones in Tesco or similar for, um, maybe a tenner? Compact Flash runs a little more expensive.

The specs are here (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-PowerShot-A460-Digital-Camera/dp/B000MRVR8A/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1203027483&sr=8-6) - my French/Spanish/German manual is less than helpful - It doesn't mention compact flash..?

No, but it does say it'll take an SD card -- convenient, since those are the cheapest. Tesco do a 1 GB one for six quid so I hope saving up shouldn't take too long ;)

Woo hoo! Thanks! :)
