Food Poll
Just in case you were wondering, I managed to have three of the top four results of the "first meal" poll on the same day :P
By complete accident, I had a cooked breakfast on Friday: the lady who does the breakfast trolley had an unwanted cooked breakfast and offered it to me as a treat, knowing I was leaving that day. Awww :) So I had baked beans, bacon, fried bread and mushrooms. *happy*.
Then I had fish and chips for lunch because I was still on the ward at lunch time and had chosen fish and chips as my meal :)
So by the time I got home, I figured I ought to have the something healthy :P OK, it was a lasagne ready meal, so it wasn't THAT healthy but it was better than the pizza I was contemplating :)
Incidentally, diet wise I don't have to do anything too special. There are certain foods I have to avoid from now on - dried fruits including those in cakes, which is fine, cos I don't eat that anyway; coconut *sniffles*; mango; nuts unless extremely well chewed up as can cause blockages in the stoma; sweetcorn. I really only mind about the coconut and might experiment with coconut flavoured stuff later on, because I think it's the actual fruit that causes problems. Otherwise, whatever I could eat before the op I should be able to eat now, although there might be stuff that disagrees with the stoma right now but will be fine in a few weeks. It's a case of "try it and see". Memo to self, try it with pizza soonest :D
