Stuff (tm)
I went into work today, to talk to FogHorn and Battleship about returning to work and also to pick up my personal stuff so it's out of the way of the office move, which will happen Friday.
It turns out that my current sick note actually covers me up to and including Monday 8th December. However - and it's a big however - my sick pay finishes at the end of this month. If I were to take that first week off, I wouldn't be paid for it. Beh. I have to see my doc this week anyway so when I do, I think I'm going to insist that I'm fit enough to go back part time, starting next week. Foghorn and I went to see Occupational Health and apparently I've got an appointment to see them for the 15th (I assume I'll get a letter about it shortly) and they recommend a phased return over a period of four weeks. The good news is, I get paid at a full time rate, even if I'm essentially part time, because it's part of the return to work thing.
I may make some inquiries about what financial assistance I'm entitled to apply for after the statutory sick pay period. There must be something, not everything can be fixed in a neat, tidy time frame. Otherwise, I shall assume I'm going back next week.
I had a long natter with Foghorn about what, exactly, my role will be going back because a lot of things have changed. She waffled a fair bit but from what I can gather, it boils down to me still being the scutpuppy but there will be other projects I may have to take on board. She couldn't, however, specify what these projects would be, she lumped it all under "Stuff". Hmf. I can see that next term is going to be hell on wheels, as there is going to be a LOT going in regards to the nursery funding and I'm sure I'll be roped in on that. It does mean working with someone whom I detest only fractionally less than I do BigBouncy but eh. Right now, I don't have much choice on who I work with and what I do. But there will be job hunting, oh yes. The office move is going to mean when I do go back in, everything will have changed drastically, so re-acclimatising will take longer than normal. It's going to be a little unsettling for a while, I guess, but that's inevitable after a long lay off.
It was nice seeing folks again though :)
*yawns* Spooks tonight, hurrah! Watched The Unit (dear gods, it was lame), and Cold Case (bloody excellent!) earlier and was happy. Now there is food plottings and tea to be drunk!
