Awww maaaan....2009, you're not starting well at all

Tony Hart dies at age 83

Dammit. He was such a lovely man, so passionate about art and such a great communicator. I know he's been retired for years but he was a fixture of my childhood, starting with Vision On, and he is the reason I managed to get an Art O' Level, by inspiring me to draw. I'm not particularly good, you understand, but he always made it clear it was the fun of creating that mattered and he was right.

I should start sketching again, just to remember that.

I must've sent a hundred pictures into HartBeat between the ages of two and four, and always wondered why my little splats of colour never made it into the Gallery. :(
