I have survived the Great Exeter Booze Fest aka
sovrin's Silver Lining Party and am safely home. Hurrah!
As usual, I was a little sad to leave but it's always good to get back home. Cat wasn't pleased to see me, so I assume that means he's in a snit because I abandoned him for two whole days. I'm so mean....
Men are Simple Creatures
It's amazing what the word "boots" can do to the aforementioned creatures.
Mostlyarmed is MostlyVeryDangerous when it comes to creating cocktails.
He possibly has a career in Chemical Weapons Development.
It IS possible to down several shots of a "punch" that consisted of half a bottle of ginger wine, three quarters of a bottle of lemon vodka, 12 bottles of Smirnoff Ice and some ginger beer, without passing out or throwing up.....
....but only if you quit while you're ahead and stick to cider :)
The ONLY way, however, to have a successful Classic Lines Drinking Competition while watching "The Princess Bride" is to have a vat and an intravenous drip.
Everyone's right, TPB is a LOT better when you're smashed out of your tree.
Unfortunately, my accuracy at playing Zuma isn't any worse drunk than when I'm sober.
tyrell drinks like a girl. A six year old girl.
lithium_doll can be got mellow enough to agree to sit through a Jim Carey movie.
I suck at the science categories of Trivial Pursuit.
The odds are wrong - it's EASIER to get any number other than a 1. :)
I actually had something of a delayed hangover today, which didn't really kick in until I'd been up some hours. Then I felt really, really nauseous and icky. Luckily we were walking to the town centre for food at the time, and I think the fresh air helped a lot. Certainly by the time I was stuffing my face in Pizza Express, I felt lots better, though I didn't go overboard with the food.
I got an early birthday pressie too! Yay! "The Big Book of How To Do Everything" from
lithium_doll and Doc. I am going to have great fun reading that :)
And now I'm home again in warm, cozy flat. It is seriously cold out there, I mean sufficiently cold that when I attempted to clean my car windscreen before driving back from the station, the water froze on the glass in nanoseconds. Brrrrr!
And I have two more days off before I have to go back to work.
Life is good :)
