The navigation didn't go quite as smoothly this time, I fear, even though we went to Brent Cross which is just up the other end of the A41 from Thal's house and supposedly easier to get to. Yet, somehow, we ended up going down the same stretch of road three times before finally figuring out the turning off the roundabout we needed to get to the shopping centre.
Consequently, when we finally walked inside the mall and discovered we were on the food court level, it really wasn't much of a decision as to whether we needed to stop for food or not. One raid on BK later, and we felt able to face the Haberdashery section of John Lewis.
As an aside, I always thought I could inhale a burger pretty well but Thal put me to shame. One minute she was unwrapping her fish burger the next minute she was tossing the empty wrapper aside going "That was nice.." :)
Anyway, wool was finally purchased after much browsing and label perusing. It turned out that there was the exact number of balls of wool left in my chosen colour that we needed, confirming that it was, indeed, Meant To Be. While I bought the wool and needles, Thal quietly disappeared and was tracked down perusing assorted goodies with a contented smile on her face. I didn't think she was ever going to leave the buttons section :)
Finally, I marched her firmly to the cash register and then ushered her past the rows of shiny sewing machines with only a mild "drooling over the floor" incident.
So now she is happily knitting and I think it's gonna be a lovely jumper when she's done. The wool is gloriously soft and a kinda slate blue colour. But paler. I think. I'm crap at colours :P Blue for sure!
Latest volume of Stargate SG-1 arrived today so that's the rest of my evening taken care of :)
