Amazon
Amazon may or may not be The Giant Evil Wot Destroys Independent Book Stores, but I really can't fault their customer service, it's excellent.
I ordered Criminal Minds Season 5 DVDs last week, and chose the free next day delivery option as I am a paying Prime member. They didn't show up. Still haven't in fact. Last Saturday, having nipped over to the sorting office and confirmed there wasn't a parcel there for me to collect, I emailed Amazon's customer service and explained. Got a response the same day, immediately offering to extend my Prime membership an extra month free and requesting that I wait until yesterday to see if the parcel showed up.
It didn't. But before I could email them again, customer services emailed me, confirming my membership extension and requesting I let them know if the parcel was still MIA. I did and, again, same day response, a new DVD set was sent out to me gratis. Not only that, it was shipped guaranteed next day delivery.
I just got an email from the delivery company advising me of when, exactly, my parcel will be delivered today so I don't have to guess and stay in all day. (Between 11 and 12 this morning, which is handy).
Colour me impressed, I thought I'd have to jump through hoops to prove somehow I didn't get delivery. Bravo Amazon, well done.
