It was a very busy weekend which was good from the perspective of ScS and the store but bad for tired Mitchy's. However, it was kinda nice to see all the lil' sales newbies scampering about and getting orders, gaining confidence and making sales. Well nearly all of them, but more of that later.

Bank Holiday was the busiest the store has been since opening weekend and I was totally shattered by the time I left yesterday. This morning there was lots left to sort out, there was a director visiting the store and on top of that, the new admin clerk started. Yes! Joy! They've finally got me some help in the office. Shabana is her name and she's settling in very nicely. Picks things up very quickly and is obviously going to be an asset. I must say, I feel a lot happier now that I have some help in there, I was starting to get very stressed.

Now that I've sorted out the leftover crud from the weekend, tomorrow will be a bit easier and I can really settle down to training Shabana. Hopefully. Assuming the sales weasels don't pester me and the stock transfers all go as planned. I live in hope.

Talking of sales weasels, there's Ronnie. He's actually technically in line to be the Sales Manager, 'scuse me while I laugh hysterically. He's CRAP! He can't fill paperwork in to save his life, he seems to not care and not want to learn and he keeps making promises to the customers that we can't keep. I got an earful twice today from one customer he promised could have their furniture delivered this week, without checking a) which warehouse would be delivering it b) when warehouse could collect stock from the store and c) if there were any frickin' delivery slots LEFT this week to start off with! There aren't and the next day we deliver to the customer's area is a week tomorrow. Customer is unimpressed but had to accept that the warehouse being full meant there was no leeway.

There was no end to the cocks up I had to sort out on his paperwork over the weekend, it was just a total shambles. Dave was complaining bitterly that he'd been unable to even read some of the sales orders when he was doing the ordering this morning. We also had one customer come in to pay a deposit for an order that had never been raised because Ronnie had given him the sales invoice (a copy of the sales docket, basically) but not told anyone in the office about it and left the paperwork lying on the sales desk. Customer comes in and of course we can't find him on the system and nor do we have a clue what's going on. Luckily one of the other sales guys remembered seeing this lonely looking sales docket on the sales desk and so we were able to take his payment. Then I had to get Zulf to actually find out what Ronnie had sold the guy because what he'd written on the docket was total rubbish. Wrong model, wrong colour, wrong wood! Sheesh!!!

I said to Christine later on that I was so going to strangle Ronnie tomorrow and she said I had to take a number :) Spoilsport :)

Anyway, I've got to leave Shabana on her own for two days this week when I have my days off but I think she'll be ok, Christine and Zulf will look after her for me and Thursdays and Fridays aren't particularly busy normally. *crosses fingers*

Next week we'll start working early/late shifts again and I'll actually be able to plan ahead with the rotas! Ahh, the simple things in life that keep the admin happy *grins*

Oooh, Thalinoviel?! You out there? Wanna meet up on Thursday??? :)
