Oh , Leslie! I too well know what misery your lungs are doing to you. Nebbie treatments are really good. Steriods really work, but watch out for the appetite increase and the 'roid rage. Been there done that a few times (I keep hoping never again). Anyway, drink, drink, drink lots of fluids. Rest and read.
Do you find sleeping sort of hard to do? When I am flared up I am in the zone of waiting until my next inhaler puffs, and drinking so much I pee all the time. The ONLY good thing (well, two good things) about being asthma sick: lots of reading time and Official Do Nothing Time.
By the way, I think think you were looking for the term Peak Flow Meter. At least that is what we call them in the US.
