1. Pick one dozen movies that are ones that you have special feelings about.
2. Pick a few lines of dialogue that mean something to you.
3. As people guess the film and the speaker, strike out that entry.
4. If possible, after the film is guessed, explain why that movie made the list
.

1. "After what happened to Luther, I don't think I can get more than two, three hundred guys."
2. "Nothing, nothing, really. It was just a little classroom, it sort of burned down."
3. "Well, of course you don't feel fine, you're in "Deliverance" country surrounded by a bunch of sober freaks!" [livejournal.com profile] itsjustaname
4. "Welcome to the New World. God save you, if it is right that he should do so." [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll
5. "You made a woman meow?" [livejournal.com profile] itsjustaname
6. "We deal in lead, friend." [livejournal.com profile] itsjustaname
7. "Silk! I bet her mother spun 'em!" [livejournal.com profile] cboard_monster
8. "Not entirely perfect" [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll
9. "Look what they make you give." [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll
10."Then, after a while I won't have to remind myself to get out of bed every morning and breath in and out... " [livejournal.com profile] itsjustaname
11." I'd like to think that the last thing that went through his head, other than that bullet, was how the hell **** ******** ever got the best of him." [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll
12."Excuse me, Johnny, I've got to hang up. We're expecting a call from you any minute."

4. A Knight's Tale - William
9. Bourne Identity - Professor assassin dude

I recognise a couple of others but can't remember who said them, dern

I think:

5: City Slickers - I'm guessing Billy Crystal to Bruno Kirby
10: Sleepless In Seattle - Tom Hanks to the radio talk show host

There's a couple of others that I'm trying to place...

Have figured out two more (thank you by the way, thinking about this has definitely brightened an otherwise dull afternoon).

I'm pretty sure number 3 is 28 days (Sam West to Sandra Bullock) and number 6 is Steve McQueen in The Magnificent Seven although I can't reemember who he's talking to.

And number 11 is driving me nuts, I can here it in my head I just can't work out who it is saying it and, from there, where it's from! Aaauuuggghhh!

[identity profile] mitchy.livejournal.com 2005-01-11 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! I knew you'd get 4 :) Right on both :)

[identity profile] mitchy.livejournal.com 2005-01-11 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
Right on 10, wrong on 5. Right actors though *grins*

If you're still bored, go check out [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll and [livejournal.com profile] tyrell, they've also got this meme. :)

And you're right on both 3 and 6! I'm impressed, I didn't think anyone would get 3 :)

ding ding, round 2 ...

8. Empire records - Lucas
11. Shawshank Redemption ... and I can't remember the name of the character

[identity profile] mitchy.livejournal.com 2005-01-11 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
Correct :) And it was Red, in voice over narration.

Oh damn, the only two I recognised have already been done....

[identity profile] itsjustaname.livejournal.com 2005-01-11 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
D'oh! It's When Harry Met Sally isn't it? I can picture the two of them in the batting cage where they're having the conversation, picked the wrong movie withthe two of them in. And it's Bruno Kirby to Billy Crystal and not vice versa I think too.

[identity profile] itsjustaname.livejournal.com 2005-01-11 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah I love that film, primarily, it has to be said, for Alan Tudyk, who is just wonderful!

[identity profile] itsjustaname.livejournal.com 2005-01-11 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course it bloody is! Thank you. it's been driving me mad. *mutter* Can't believe I didn't get that one, it's one of my favourite movies of all time...

[identity profile] mitchy.livejournal.com 2005-01-11 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Correct! :)

[identity profile] mitchy.livejournal.com 2005-01-11 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Alan Tudyk is a comedy genius it's true. You should watch "Firefly", the TV series he was in. It's not only a great show, he's really good in it :)

[identity profile] mitchy.livejournal.com 2005-01-11 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
*consoles* 's ok, I feel your pain. [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll did it to me with her meme.

[identity profile] itsjustaname.livejournal.com 2005-01-12 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Don't come to me with your Firefly recommendations you little Johnny Come Lately, I've had the DVD since it was released! *grin* And he is, indeed, a comedy genius!

[identity profile] mitchy.livejournal.com 2005-01-12 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Am I the last person on the planet to get hooked on the genius that is "Firefly"?!?!

[identity profile] cboard-monster.livejournal.com 2005-01-12 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
7 - Calamity Jane.

[identity profile] mitchy.livejournal.com 2005-01-12 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
