Scribblings from the Mitchy Side

My birthday started very well, at midnight, with all my late night IM friends wishing me a Happy Birthday :)

This morning, I opened the two parcels that arrived. The largest was from Rik and Carol and it contained several bottles of delicious looking cider. Hurrah!! The other parcel was from lithium_doll and it was the Special Edition of I-Robot!! Yayyyy!! I have good friends :) *snugs all round* Aunty Eve sent me a birthday card and a cheque, bless her, so I will have to ring her later and thank her.

So now I'm slurping tea and trying to wake up. I must get my lazy arse out of this chair today. I MUST go and pick up my asthma prescription. I SHOULD also go shopping for a USB cable so I can connect up my shiny new ADSL modem - there's a cable with it, obviously, but it's nowhere near long enough. I may be able to jury rig something with some phone cable extensions for the filters and whatnot but I'll still need a USB extension cable to get everything to reach the 'pooter.

*has a sudden thought*

Oooh. I wonder if I could cancel my main phone line and switch all my services to the second line? *thinks that through* No, buggerit, that would just leave me the problem of not having a phone in the hall and having to run a cable all the way from the lounge to my bedroom to plug in the Sky digibox. At some point, I will have to get a new telephone point installed in my bedroom, but I'm sure I can bodge something for now :)

So yeh, I should go shopping for the cable. I should also go clothes shopping and try and buy something different to wear for the dinner tomorrow night and the party bash on Saturday. Beh. Maybe tomorrow.
