StillWaters made the entire office gigglefit today. She's been on the case regarding things wot haven't been done/fixed/supplied in our new office. When I got in, I saw her latest email that thanked the Lady in Charge for what had been done so far, mentioned we were still waiting for the clock to be fixed on the wall (it's only been five weeks since we moved...) and was there any progress on getting blinds fitted to the windows missing such things, as now the sun was shining it was very difficult to see minor things like computer monitors.

I read the email, snickered a bit and sidled up to StillWaters...and pointed to the clock that was now fixed to the wall! Apparently, the house elves fixed it last night and nobody had noticed! StillWaters blushed a bit and promptly sent another email to the LiC saying "Please ignore what I said about the clock, it's already on the wall but I didn't see it due to the bright sunshine shining through the windows with no blinds!"

Perfect! :D

Work went quick today and I got so happily engrossed in beating up some spreadsheets for TooTall that I ended up leaving late. Feel fine so that's encouraging :) Didn't quite get in as early as I wanted to this morning but eh, I'm getting closer to 9am :D

And eee! John Rogers answered my question about a plot point in the Leverage episode "The Bank Shot Job"! OK, he listed me as "anonymous", even though I did sign my name, but never mind, you can clearly see it's my question in the original thread :) Hurrah! I shall try and see if I have a good question about tonight's show.

And tonight what shall I do? I think I will watch Stuff on TV :) *wanders off happily*

*sighs happily* That's more like it! Last week I was worried it was going to be totally sappy. This week they've introduced one of my favourite "Hey! It's That Guy!" (tm Television Without Pity) character actors, Mark A Sheppard, as Potential!Evil!Antagonist!, to bring some much needed edge to things. Also as someone who just might shake Ford up from time to time. The story confused me a bit - Oh! I need subtitles SO much! - but I think I got the gist. Either way, I enjoyed it for all the character moments :)

Work came and went today, peacefully enough. I forgot to ask Foghorn if I could have next Tuesday off, though. Dammit. Must ask tomorrow.

*yawns* And early night for me, none of this bed by 12 malarky. Bed by 11, methinkest, I must start at least PRETENDING to be getting into work at a sensible hour.

Just watched the second episode of Leverage and it was good. Not brilliant, it was a set up episode and it was pretty sappy at the end but I have faith they'll take it in the right direction. The main point though is the whole thing is just so much fun and there's so much snark, I'm loving it :)

Ahh feel good television, how I've missed ye.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] 803am has nearly finished my fic and has kindly agreed NOT to make me wait until Christmas. Possibly because she couldn't face another 2 weeks of me whining asking nicely about it :D

Talking of TV, I completely forgot to watch Spooks on Monday night *shakes head* That's cos I had a week's break and just forgot it was on. And it was the last ep of the series too, so doubtless they'll have killed off half the remaining cast. Time to go and beat up the BBC website and get it downloaded, methinks!

I was in Tesco's earlier this week as their own brand of senior cat food is one the furball deems so acceptable, he ignored the fact I was opening the cupboard behind him, causing his backside to ride up the door, in favour of keeping his snout in his food bowl. Once I'd stopped giggling helplessly, I decided that that was as good a reason to trek to Tesco's after work as any :)

They had a special offer on the deli counter while I was there, for this "Champagne infused marmalade ham". Now I have a love/hate relationship with ham. As a kid, I HATED ham sandwiches with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. This was due, I think, to the horrible, dry, tasteless sarnies I had to eat countless times as a kid when having tea at my Nan's house. And she used mustard, which I wasn't a fan of back then. As an adult, I've come to like ham sarnies, though I still prefer ham paired with something else, like tomato or egg. And a melted cheese 'n' ham toastie is heaven on a plate. But I've not really been a fan of ham in and of itself, until I tried that champagne infused stuff. Oooh gods, it was GORGEOUS! I finally saw how tasty ham can be. I bought a coupla slices (all I could afford, it was understandably expensive, even on special offer) and I scoffed them earlier today, as part of a main course. And it was delicious! So now I'm thinking I might treat myself to a small ham joint for Christmas, although I might have to see if I can get a pre-cooked one, because I don't own any really big pans. I have to go down to Rainham before Christmas, I might see what's in the farm shop down there. Anyone have any sage advice about buying ham?

*streeetches* In other non-news, Sunday has been perfectly relaxing. Two good football matches have gone by and later on, there'll be a new episode of Fringe, which really seems to have kicked up a gear. If any of you gave up after episode two or three, I do suggest a re-visit.

Leverage starts airing in the US tonight, with the official broadcast of the pilot episode. Eee! And then on Tuesday, episode 2 will air on what will be its regular night. *pats uTorrent* I'll be ready Wednesday morning, oh yes. Another show I seriously recommend to my flist - if you like shows you know I like, do try and check this one out. I'll be squeaking about it a lot over the next few weeks :)

Oh....talking of guilty pleasure TV *eyes [livejournal.com profile] halcyon_shift and [livejournal.com profile] 803am malevolently*, I watched my first episode of Merlin yesterday. And damned it it didn't suck me in to the point that I know I'll be watching next week. *sighs* I blame Anthony Head, too, for being so damn good as Uther. Bah. At least it is a notch or three above Robin Hood, there is no way I could sit through another show as bad as that!

I'm immensely cheerful today, so I thought I'd share my general happiness. I mean, I still have money worries and stuff but there are many small things that are helping me not to worry about that and keeping me chipper. (And I also know those worries are temporary.)

When the work office move first came up, I recall TooBrightTies asking me if I had any special seating requirements. I said I wanted to be facing the office and have the majority of the folks on my right side (the side I can hear out of). So guess where I initially was sitting? Yep, with my back to the majority of the office and with most everyone to my left. *sighs deeply* (When I say majority of the office, I mean our half of it, we are sharing a very long room with another department) Anyway, today I squeaked about it to Foghorn and so it was duly arranged that I swap places with SmartAlec* so that lo! I am facing all of our section of the office and everyone's on my right! *dances* You've no idea how much easier this is going to make my life. It does mean that tomorrow we have to faff about moving all our stuff but eh, once done it's done so that's all good.

In a continued burst of efficiency, I stopped by the sorting office on the way home (my nearest post office) and got stamps for all my international Christmas cards. So they're on their way. I only had to sell a kidney to afford the postage ;) Though when I think about what's involved getting a card to the other side of the world, I can't really grumble too hard about the price. And it's for Christmas soooo.... :)

This weekend I shall continue to be efficient and do the domestic cards and get 'em out the door. I say I'm going to do this every year but I think this year I actually might. Stay tuned :D

Another bit of news that's making me a Very Happy Mousey is that the "Rent - Filmed Live on Broadway" DVD will be on sale 3rd Feb 2009! Yay!!!!! This is the recording of the Rent stage show I saw in NYC and it'll be that cast too, so it's going to be a fabulous keep sake for me. Plus close up shots of Tracie! Eeee! AND just in time for my birthday! It's like they knew or something :D (And no, it won't be on my birthday wishlist - that is one thing that I'm going to be buying myself, roughly 2 nanoseconds after it's released :D )

[livejournal.com profile] 803am is writing me a Cold Case fic for Christmas! It was to my specifications so sooooon I will be reading Angsty!KatMiller fic about her early days in Philly Homicide! Eee! *bounces happily*

And on Sunday 7th and Tuesday 9th, Leverage's first season will officially start *polishes her bittorrent client with glee* Oh I do hope it lives up to my expectations!

So yeh, 'm a cheerful mousey. And why not? I'm a lucky kid :)

* Alec isn't his name and I may try and come up with a better nickname for him. Although SmartAlec says it reasonably well :)

There are new Leverage Behind the Scenes vids up at the TNT site! Huzzah!

Once I've slurped some tea and crunched some toast, 'm gonna get myself under the shower and then dressed and out to the shops. For today is going to be an epic sports day. At 12.15, Leeds play Histon in round 2 of the FA Cup. Then it's Man City v. Man Utd. AND THEN it's Chelsea v. Arsenal. And after all that, if my brain isn't totally fried, there will be American Football. As a "last day of freedom before work", this is pretty damn cool :)

How wrong is it to be totally in love with a show that hasn't even aired yet?

The pilot for Leverage was leaked onto the internet a while ago and the evil [livejournal.com profile] tyrell and the very evil [livejournal.com profile] halcyon_shift lured me into watching it.

Damn I'm hooked but good.

Seriously, if someone sat down with me and asked me for a list of things wot make me love a show and then went away and wrote Leverage, I doubt it could do better at ticking all the check boxes. Snark and action? Check. One character is a thief? Check. Eye candy for both sexes? Check. Good guys acting like bad guys to buck the system? Check. Did I mention snark? CHECK!

It airs in December and I can't flipping well wait. I've spent all afternoon reading the showrunner's blog, which has some fascinating entries about how TV shows actually get written. And when that didn't satisfy me, I squeaked at [livejournal.com profile] halcyon_shift until she gave into the temptation to write Leverage fic. Based on one episode. That hasn't officially aired yet.

I maaay have a new obsession :P
