Squeee!

Squee Part the First: I came home today to an amazon parcel. Funny, thought I, I haven't ordered anything. Opened it up to discover a belated birthday present from [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel, the 4-disc box set special edition of "Kingdom of Heaven". Orrrlyyyyyyy! Squeeeee!

Squee Part the Second: Last night's ep of Bones was going to feature Hodgins quite a bit, if the blurb I'd read was anything to go by. I've been looking forward to it all day, and I've come home to find it's downloaded perfectly! Once Masterchef is over, there will be Bones watching and contented purring! Yay for Hodgins!

Tuesdays should not feel like Mondays

I had a lovely day on Saturday, as predicted, topped off with a fantabulous evening out with [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel. There was cider and vast quantities of pizza. So much, in fact, that for the first time in living memory, I had to ask for a pizza box to take half my pizza home. This may or may not have been due to the large slab of apple crumble I scoffed mid-afternoon. *coughs*

Sunday was "slob on the sofa, under a duvet, with a hot water bottle and a purring cat" day. And very good it was too. There was rugby, football and Time Team to watch during the afternoon/early evening and then I had shiny Bones DVDs to fall back on. I am loving that show. I've started downloading S2 now and I shall be wandering off to watch some more eps shortly :)

Work has sucked donkey balls, frankly, for the past two days and shows no signs of getting any better. I let my stress get to me a bit today and I must apologise to BigBouncy tomorrow. It's not like I'm the only one who's busy, y'know? One big bright spot at work was they gave me pressies yesterday! Yay! They perused my amazon wishlist carefully and bought me two Diane Duane books I've been pining for for ages, the special edition DVD of "The Sound of Music" and (not on the wishlist), a small gift set of smelly stuff. Hee! I was a happy mousey. I remembered to get up early today and get to Tesco's to buy cakes for the office, too, so that's my duty done.

And now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and watch Bones and try and de-stress. :)

Hee!

My birthday's off to a great start! First of all, just having a birthday on a Saturday is great! Secondly, I got some lovely cards from friends. Thirdly, I got an Amazon gifty certificate from [livejournal.com profile] jenni411 and a cheque from little Aunty Eve, so there will be guilt-free spending in my future! Fourthly, I got Bones Season 1 from [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll and [livejournal.com profile] doccy! Yayyy!

Fifthly, it's Six Nations weekend so I will be able to watch England v. Italy and Scotland v. Wales, hurrah! Sixthly, I will be meeting [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel in WGC for food and booze this evening.

*sighs happily*

It's going to be a good day :)

Want some :D

In other non-news, the urge to smuggle a flamethrower into work to deal with my desk continues to grow. Despite beating back a paper mountain today, I know full well that it will grow again tomorrow.

We have a birthday present pool at work, which is basically the six ladies of the office. The five whose birthday it isn't all chip in a fiver towards a present for the sixth. We've got 2 birthdays coming up, because TooShy's birthday is the day before mine :) Anyway, plots are being hatched for my birthday present and I pointed them to my amazon wishlist. Strangely, they couldn't view it at work. They can log into Amazon just fine, but it completely fails to display my wishlist, which I know exists because a) I can see it and b) I got [livejournal.com profile] jenni411 to see if she could search and find it using the criteria they were using. Most odd. Possibly it's a weird filter on our network but it seems an odd thing to get blocked. All else fails, I'll have to give them the list and then get them to email what they've bought to someone who can edit my wishlist for me. :)

I have absolutely no plans for my birthday, none at all. I'm still paying off a couple of largeish debts so I'm thinking I might just postpone any celebrations until the summer when I can enjoy it properly. I suspect I may treat myself to a trip to the cinema on the day and some extensive RP of the evening. Suits me fine :)
