5. You ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed. And it just keeps going, and going, and going

- 5 questions from [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll

1) What is your definition of 'art'?

Oh sure, start off with the easy ones....:) *considers* I would say art is in the eye of the beholder. By that definition, things that I consider complete crap (sheep in formaldehyde, 3 bricks on a stand) would be art, and that's ok. I think it's crap but if others do not, who am I to tell them they are wrong? Good art, though, IMHO, should not only be striking/pleasing to the eye and/or it should make you think or look at something in a new way. Really good art will do both. Just for trivia purposes, my favourite painting is "The Ambassadors" :)

2) If you could be any animal of your choosing, which would it be and why? Animal must exist.

A cat, definitely. They've got it made. Fuss and attention and food on demand. Just imagine being a creature whose sole purpose (from a human perspective) is to be a companion, to be cuddled and petted and made to purr! And then there's whole hissing and *earsflat* option too. Hee! I could go for that :)

3) If you could have one talent or skill you were fantastically, supernaturally good at - what would it be?

Music - singer, songwriter, maestro of the guitar, something. *sighs* Being tone deaf sucks.
Being able to draw would be a close second *nodsnods*

4) If you could nominate three movies as the all-time greatest ever, which would they be?

Only three?! You...you..fiend! Ack! *ponders carefully*

1) The Lord of the RIngs Trilogy (if you twist my arm for just one of the three, I'll go with Return of the King, Special Edition version)

2) The Shawshank Redemption

3) Seven Samurai

5) Could Baseball be a viable sport in Britain? Why? (Or why not *g*)

There's no reason it couldn't be played here, theoretically. American football has a bigger fan base than people are aware of, there are softball teams in the UK, and rounders is still popular, so the culture/concepts wouldn't be that alien. However, there's lots of practical reasons why it wouldn't. The weather being one - our springs and autumns are too wet. Yes, we share similar climate to parts of the USA but given there's a baseball game EVERY DAY for eight months, they have very, very few rain outs. We wouldn't. We'd lose whole days of play across the board because bad weather affects a larger percentage of our country at any one time. Second would be the fact that we'd not have a school/university system to develop players in - something that pretty much cripples any hopes of American Football becoming stronger. Thirdly, would be generating the necessary finances to sustain a league. So as a professional sport, no, I can't see it happening. I can see it developing as an amateur thing, locally, here and there. Baseball equivalent of pub cricket teams. There's a strong and persistant groundswell of support developing, thanks in part to better TV covereage and access to satellite/cable channels.
