Well I got to sleep ten seconds after getting back to bed around 2.30am. Wasn't as brain dead this morning as I feared so that was a relief. However, I'm definitely in Dormouse mode this evening so an early night is on the cards.

Work was ok today, it went pretty fast which is all I ask. Oh, there was much giggling this afternoon. Remember SickNote? She of the "Do you think 52 days off sick in a year is a lot?"? Well today was her second Monday in her shiny new job....and she was off sick. *gigglefits* Good to know some things don't change.

And now, a meme! Brought you at vast expense from [livejournal.com profile] annuala.* *cues drum roll*

How many keys are on your keychain?
One on my car key ring, ummm, about six on my house key ring, only two of which I use :P

What curse word do you use the most?
Probably the F word, though "bollocks" comes a close second.

Do you own an iPod?
No. *sniff*

What time is your alarm clock set for?
7.40am

How many suitcases do you own?
One suitcase, two rucksacks and a large holdall

Do you wear flip-flops even when it's cold outside?
I've never been able to wear flip flops, I can't get them to stay on my feet.

Where do you buy your groceries from?
Usually a supermarket chain like Morrisons or Tesco's.

Would you rather take the picture or be in the picture?
Take the picture.

What was the last movie you watched?
"Dogs of War" on TV a few nights back. Not a completely faithful adaptation of Frederick Forsythe's book, but it was still pretty good. And it featured an incredibly young Chris Walkern in the lead role, so it was fun to watch :)

Do any of your friends have children?
Yes. *thinks* Karen 'n' Nigel and [livejournal.com profile] therealsherbs and Rich. And all my colleagues in the office at work are parents.

If you won the lottery, what's the first thing you would buy?
I'd pay off all my debts first - mortgage, credit card, loan. I suppose, technically, I'd be buying my flat, so let's say that :)

Has anyone ever called you lazy?
Yeh. They'd be right too. I call me lazy all the time :)

Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep faster?
Nope and I don't want to start.

What CD is currently in your CD player?
I have a cd I ripped various tracks to in the CD in the car. Most CDs I buy I download these days.

Do you prefer regular or chocolate milk?
Well that's a silly question, because obviously I'm not going to have chocolate milk on my cornflakes or in my tea :P But it's nice to drink on its own.

Has anyone told you a secret this week?
No, dammit. *sniffles* I crave secrets! Maybe I'll start a meme to get people to tell me a secret if I tell them one :P

When was the last time someone hit on you?
Beyond range of my memory.

What did you have for dinner?
Haven't had dinner (evening meal) yet. Prolly going to have something exotic like an omelette. Lunch was a chicken mayo baguette from the canteen.

Do you wear hoodies often?
I did this winter - only decent jumper I had was a hoodie :)

Can you whistle?
Yes, but not well and certainly not tunefully. Stupid crooked front tooth....

Have you ever participated in a protest?
That would involve action, right? I have signed petitions and written a letter of complaint from time to time.

Who was the last person to call you?
My little Aunty Eve, yesterday :) She's OK, btw, although I think I'm entering that period of time when I'm going to be waiting for that bad news phone call.

What is your favourite ride at an amusement park?
I'm such a wuss! I hate most of the rides as I can't do roller coasters. But I love anything that involves splashing through water - Splash Mountain at Disney World is my favouritest ride ever :) Wish I could remember the other fun one at Disneyland....Mike? Can you remember that one we went on about 3 times? :)

Do you think people talk about you behind your back?
*giggles* I'm sure my family do. And knowing the people I work with, I'm damn sure they do :)

01707

Yes.

What is your biggest regret?
Not paying off my mortgage when I could have. God, I am such an idiot.

What movie do you know every line to?
The Sting :) Also I'm pretty good on 28 Days and The Little Mermaid.

Do you own any band t-shirts?
I have a very battered Wild Boys Duran Duran t-shirt lurking somewhere. I'm too fond of it to throw out. I was once offered money for it while wearing it on holiday but I wouldn't sell it.

When was your last plane ride?
May this year, coming back *sniff* from New York.

How many chairs are at your dining room table?

Pretty much exclusively :)

Can you speak any languages other than English?
Not really, though my Franglais isn't too bad.

Do you do your own dishes?
Yeh, not much choice really :)

What colour is your bedroom painted?
Very pale yellow. And I had to go and look to check *blush*

Have you ever cried in public?
Yes, once or twice, but I don't think funerals count. Also blubbed at work (not where I work now) once or twice, which is always really annoying.

Do you have a desktop computer or a laptop?
Desktop.

Which do you make, wishes or plans?
I wish a lot but I'm practical enough to make plans.

Pondering a tattoo when I've lost some weight.

Can you skip rocks?
Yes, one of my favourite things to do at the beach/near a lake/by a river.

Have you ever been to Jamaica?
No. Can't say I have a burning urge to go there, specifically. Not that I wouldn't like to visit the tropics some day.

What to snack on at the movie theatres?
I like hot dogs :) Or toffee butter popcorn.

Who was your favourite teacher?
Mrs Davis, my form teacher my last year at middle school. She's the teacher that defied popular thinking and introduced us, carefully, to Shakespeare. She was lots of fun, tough but fair. I often wonder if she's still teaching.

Have you ever dated someone out of your race?
No but I have no objections to the idea.

A sense of humour, definitely.

I don't think so, but that's not just cos I'm shallow, just cos that situation hasn't arisen :)

When was the last time you slept on the floor?
Depends. If this means "on the floor with no padding between me and the floor", that would be back in Uni. If it means "on the floor but on/in a sleeping bag/inflatable bed/mattress", then when I stayed at [livejournal.com profile] therealsherbs's house last November :)

What is your favourite alcoholic drink?
Anyone on my flist who DOESN'T know this is cider should slap themselves upside the head for being dense :)

Does your closest Starbucks have a drive-thru?
I'm happy to report we don't have a Starbucks in WGC. I think my nearest one is about 10 miles away. I'd be deeply surprised if ANY Starbucks in the UK has a drive through, as many of them are in town centres or airports.

Do you like your living arrangement?
Suits me fine :)

What is your mother's home town?
Oddly enough, where I live now.

How many hours of sleep do you need to function?

What was the last thing to scare you?
The cat, headbutting the kitchen door and making it creeeeak slowly open, like someone was pushing it!

Are your days full and fast-paced?
My work days are busy, occasionally hectic, but not what I'd consider "fast paced". My off days are full of loafing :) I don't do fast pace anything *ponders* 'cept maybe eating *snickers*

*chokes snorts* Err, no :P

Do you own a digital camera?
No. Working on that.

If someone you had no interest in dating expressed interest in dating you, how would you feel?
Well, it's always good for the ego but it's also awkward. I hate having to let people down but I'd have to be honest.

What celebrities have you been compared to?
I haven't, that I know of. Though a certain rec.arts.mystery poster once said I looked like Snow White. Hmf.

Who is your favourite Star Wars character?
Obi Wan. I'm not a huge SW fan, but Ewan McGregor's portrayal in the sequels hooked me. Memo: Must get around to renting RotS....

Yes.

What books, if any, have made you cry?

"Anne of Green Gables" L.M.Montgomery - I always blub when Matthew dies!

I think I have my moments.

Some days, I think I'm allergic to just breathing. *grumbles* For sure, dust and pollen get me going. I have suspicions I may be allergic to other things.

I can be, yes. But I'm happy to say it's something I've wrestled with and gotten under control as I've gotten older and, allegedly, wiser.

Nothing wrong with it so long as both parties understand the rules of the game.

*giggles* No :) Now pass that haunch of venison please!

If you were born the opposite sex, what would your name have been?
You know, I don't know. *thinks* I'm sure I was told once. I must ask Aunty Eve and see if she knows.
