Scribblings from the Mitchy Side

So. My satellite box has been on the blink for a couple of days and finally reached the "distorting picture is now so bad you can no longer watch anything" stage last night. So I called the company that I have the service plan with and to my astonishment, they said they could have an engineer here today.

Which is great service but it means having to take a morning off without having done the hours in advance to pay for it. Umm. He'd BETTER show up by 1pm or he's a dead engineer. (He phoned and gave between 9am and 1pm as his arrival time.) If I can do four hours this afternoon, I can easily make the rest of the hours up next week. Well, ok, it'll be diabolical to have to get into work for 8.30 every day but hey, needs must when the devil drives or something.

OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!

Engineer finally turned up. Poked the dish, now I don't have a signal at all and he says, that after 8 years, the dish is too low and needs to be moved higher up the wall.

ARGH!

And they won't do it until I've got something in writing giving me permission to move it up the wall. Great. So I've got to persuade the people in the top flat that they don't mind the company drilling into outer wall of their flat to put a dish up. Now the top flat has a dish already so in theory they shouldn't mind. HAH!! First I've got to find out who owns the bloody place (probably an absentee landlord), get their permission and then get the Management Company's permission to put the dish up. And get it all in writing.

The Management Company hate me, we're in dispute about the fees.

So I'm without satellite TV at all now and I'm away this weekend so fuck knows how long it'll be before I can sort it out.
