...apparently, before it broadcasts in the US, there's a small public information bit that goes:-

"The following you'd understand a lot more of, if you hadn't have thrown our tea into your harbour. So in order to follow properly, we strongly suggest that you turn on closed captioning."

Bah! Bionic Woman news

Remember that trailer I posted a while back? Best bit was the deaf punk sister, right? Well read this news item from Michael Ausiello over at TV.com:-

Bionic Woman is undergoing a little surgery.

Mae Whitman (Thief) is being replaced in the role of Becca, the title character's deaf sister. An NBC spokesperson confirmed the move, adding, "The decision was purely creatively driven. It is very common to change storylines, characters, actors after the initial pilot is shot."

The search for a replacement is under way — and the new actress might not be required to learn sign language. Rumor has it that someone high up requested that the character's hearing be restored. It's a miracle!

I need to find somewhere to write to and complain bitterly.
