...apparently, before it broadcasts in the US, there's a small public information bit that goes:-
"The following you'd understand a lot more of, if you hadn't have thrown our tea into your harbour. So in order to follow properly, we strongly suggest that you turn on closed captioning."

1. The BBC is unlikely to antagonise it's largest export market.
2. It wasn't the whole of the US that threw Tea into the harbour, just the Boston colonists, so the caption doesn't really make sense unless it's only shown in the Boston area. Yes, it was part of a chain of events that resulted in the American Revolution, but in and of itself, it was a relatively minor incident.
