I crashed out for 4 hours and I feel better now :) This is a good thing.

I'm way behind on LJ comments but I do read them all and it means a lot to have your comfort and support when things are sucky. Being able to vent on LJ is such a great stress buster :) *hugglesquishes you all*

And now I'm going back to bed to have a good night's sleep. Food might even be an option tomorrow! :D

Got a call from Aunty Eve's friend, Jo, this morning. Her ward is closed to visitors because - get this - she's got the MRSA bug. FFS!! Can't the poor lady catch a break?! I shall ring the ward later (morning is their busy time, I know from past visits that after 1pm is a good time to ring) and get the details from the source. In the meantime, my friend Rik, whose mum had the same thing during her recent hospital stay, has filled me in with a few facts, so at least I know what to ask when I call.

I'm seriously considering some sort of intervention. An exorcism maybe.

*wanders off, ranting quietly*

UPDATE: Just spoke to the ward. It's not the MRSA bug, it's vomiting and diarrhoea bug. Now, the ward was closed to new admissions because of this, but they still admitted two people there to my knowledge (my Aunty and one other lady) and technically, it was closed to visitors but they relaxed it over Christmas. That may have been a tactical error. Anyway, they reckon I can visit on New Year's Day but I should ring to check before hand.

All things considered, I'd have preferred her to have the MRSA. It would be less debilitating and given she's stuffed full of antibiotics anyway, probably marginally easier to treat. *sighs*
