Rob's being so affectionate lately, it's kind of unnerving. I should explain that this is a cat that spent his first seven years refusing to sit on, near or remotely close to humans, including me. His idea of getting fuss and attention was to yowl piteously from a distance of 6 or 7 feet away and roll over on his back. Should you get up to oblige with belly rubs, he'd run away. The only way I could fuss him was if I picked him up and cuddled him, but I was only allowed to do this standing up. Sometimes he'd let me fuss him when he was curled up on a chair or my bed.

Then, verrry slowly, he mellowed. First it was deigning to curl up on the sofa with me, albeit at the opposite end. Then he gradually started sidling over to get fussed. Over the last year, he's become velcro cat and, since my hospital visit, he's practically my shadow. He spent today trying to climb onto my lap - this he hasn't done in the entirety of his nearly 13 years of life. *shakes head* It's cute and I'm kinda glad but at the same time, I wish he wouldn't keep toppling over sideways onto my mouse hand - it hurts :P But I do like the way he snuggles into my side of an afternoon and purrs his furry head off :)

Anyway, have a couple of pics of the shameless tart:-

I still didn't manage to get up early but I DID get into WGC to change the jeans I bought online. Happily, I was able to find two more pairs in the store that I could do a straight swap for, so now I have two pairs of jeans that fit. Hurrah! It's lovely to be able to go out without a) worrying I'm going to moon WGC town centre and b) be able to keep things in the pockets without the extra weight aiding the debagging process :P

Having nipped home to hastily change into new fitting jeans, I scampered over to Stevenage to see "Quantum of Solace" with [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel. Excellent Bond film, I mean it, really good. Not sure if I liked it more than "Casino Royale", but it certainly matches that movie for quality. My only gripes were with some unecessary shakey!cam during high speed car chases and a couple of bits of really ropey CGI. Otherwise, I cannot gripe at all, the story was good, the fight scenes outstanding and the set pieces well up to Bond standard. Go see it if you can, it's worth it :)

Afterwards, we scampered over to McD's, having paused in momentary horror thinking it had snowed again while we were in the cinema. The word "jinx" was being muttered but to our relief, the white stuff on the pavement outside the cinema turned out to be soap suds :) In relief, we happily scoffed burgers, guzzled tea and yakked our heads off for over an hour :)

And now I'm home, all sleepy-like, and pondering a nice, quiet evening. I'm off to London tomorrow afternoon to meet up with Rik and Carol so I MUST make sure I get good sleep tonight!
