So I had a great weekend, which started on Friday with a lie in. Then I got up, did a few last minute housework-type things and scampered off to WGC to meet a Sherbski :)
We went to a nearby café for food and tea and then toddled back home to relax for the afternoon. The World's Comfiest Sofa provided the comfy surface on which we loafed, while I showed Sherbs the first two episodes of the current season of BSG. Why, yes, there IS a rotten cliffhanger at the end of episode 2. Why do you ask? *eg*
Then we headed back into WGC and went to the Cork for booze while we waited for a
thalinoviel to arrive, which she did although somewhat later than planned. Pizza and other luscious stuff was consumed at Pizza Express before we wandered back home. We were going to go for more booze but the disco in the pub put us off. Sign of us getting old, I suppose :)
So that
thalinoviel didn't have to leave at a stupidly early time to get the last train, she was invited to spend the night which she accepted. Consequently there was tea and nattering and attempts to complete Funny Farm - having two other minds at work other than my own really helped :) Finally, tiredness won out and Sherbs retreated to my room, while
thalinoviel bedded down on the old sofa and I snuggled into the World's Comfiest Sofa. There was much snoring to be heard thereafter.
Come the morning and we were all hungry. Alas, certain financial woes meant I had no supplies so Sherbs and the Janey very kindly took me to the local supermarket for food. NB: The café at Morrisons does a damn fine cooked breakfast :) To save Janey from lugging shopping back home via the train, I drove her home which naturally meant we were invited in for tea, enabling me to renew my acquaintance with the kitty cats :)
Back home again and there was napping - I told you, it's our age - before we surfaced and started happily yakking about matters RP. Sherbs and I can talk about our characters until the cows come home :) Then came the big RP scene online, which necessitated much keyboard swapping and trying to remember which browser window belonged to which character. That was fun :P Vast amounts of fried chicken were ordered from the local take-away and dutifully consumed. Mmmm! Once the scene ran down, at around 1am, we called it a night.
Sunday consisted of a lazy morning with Sherbs thoroughly enjoying the luxury of being able to lie in bed and just read. Bliss :) There was then more loafing in front of the pooter while I showed her the next two episodes of BSG. This at least meant she didn't go home cursing my name because there was a monster cliff hanger :) Finally mid-afternoon came and it was time for Sherbs to wend her way home.
All in all, an absolutely splendid weekend :) My deep thanks to both Sherbs and the Janey for helping me out financially - next time, folks, you two don't pay for a thing. *snugs you both*
