OK, call me a wuss but tonight's episode of Torchwood scared the ever-loving crap out of me. Mildly worrying that they've abandoned the aliens already, mind, but still, bloody scary.
Had a pretty quiet weekend. Got into WGC on Saturday and did some shopping, having spent an hour online ordering the bulky stuff that I didn't want to lug home. Did some much needed shoe shopping and found a great pair of shoes that'll be good for work and also smart enough for the interview on Thursday. I'm tempted to have a sacrificial bonfire out of the manky old pair, horrible things. No more soggy toed Mitchy every time it rains!
I was planning to go up to Stevenage to see the new Bond movie today but I woke up with a splitting headache that hadn't gone away by the time Tesco's had delivered the shopping (and, incidentally, for the first time, they delivered everything I'd ordered, nothing missing or hopelessly wrong) so I gave it a miss and curled up in front of the football instead. I may go on Thursday, as I have the day off for the interview.
Talking of Thursday, I'm having some logistical problems. Although the company is based in Hatfield, they're holding the interviews at a hotel near St Albans. If it was in Hatfield or St Albans proper, I could catch a train or a bus. But getting to the middle of nowhere for 9am is going to be problematical. I'm going to look into hiring a car or a taxi, which I'm hoping Brook Street might pay for, or at least contribute to. The nice lady at Brook Street hinted they might be able to help me get there, so we'll see.
And the government wonders why no-one commutes. One bus an hour, on average, between the major towns in North Herts. It's bloody ridiculous. Even Stevenage, which is 7 miles away, only has one train an hour between it and WGC, two stops down. *shakes head* Insane. And don't get me started on the cost! :P
