Scribblings from the Mitchy Side

*whimpers*

I managed to foil Belgo's attempts to kill me ded but darn, it was a close run thing. The occasion was an advance celebration of Rik's birthday and to that end, he and his other half, Carol, came down to London for their usual thing of packing a ridiculous amount of sight seeing into far too short a time :)

Naturally, they were happy to meet up for a meal and Belgo's was selected yet again. it has nothing to do with the beer, honest! Having got up very late, it came about that I'd eaten nothing at all by the time we got to Belgo's (around 6.15) so I attempted to eat three courses. I don't know WHAT I was thinking! But brother, it was gorgeous :) I had cheese croquettes to start off with, and Carol and I helped Rik eat the salad off his starter cos he doesn't like rocket. For main course, I nearly had the ribeye steak but finally plumped for the haddock and frites. Haddock my arse! That wasn't a haddock, that was a small whale! Good grief! I nearly finished it all but not quite. Foolishly, I thought this meant I'd be ok with dessert and I made a valiant attempt on the chocolate cheesecake but had to admit defeat.

I may never move again.

It was great to see Rik and Carol though and a good time was had by all :)

Now, please excuse me, I need to go and lie down and whimper some more :P
