So Saturday and Sunday passed in a happy haze of loafing. Saturday was all about the FA Cup and watching the football, mixed in with catching up on BSG, Grey's Anatomy and Numb3rs. Sunday was pure bliss. Sunday was spent curled up on the sofa with a purring cat and a shiny copy of Diane Duane's "The Empty Chair", a book I've been waiting for for years, it being the last in a trilogy and the last in a series of books featuring the Romulan characters DD's written about before. Fantastic book and yes, I read the whole thing in a day, couldn't put it down and didn't want to!
Today was a Monday, in all the usual respects, compounded by the fact that I slept poorly and I've been plagued with a sore throat for a few days now. I'm taking a linctus recommended by the pharmacist I spoke to but if it doesn't go away by the end of the week, I think a visit to the quack's may be called for. It feels like there's a ball of phlegm stuck behind my larynx and nothing's shifting it. The throat's not actively sore, but sometimes I'll swallow and it'll feel like there's a cactus sitting back there. I spent 10 mins this evening dry heaving until I thought I was going to pass out and had nothing to show for it. But on the other hand, before taking the linctus, I didn't have that much, so maybe it'll shift eventually. Not a process I'm going to enjoy, I'm sure :P
Talking of sleeping poorly, I'm getting fed up with my dreams being so literal. I've had a run recently of dreaming things like I'm asleep but I shouldn't be because I'm late for work and need to wake up. So I do wake up, only it's 3am in the morning. Repeat until I do wake up and, natch, I'm running late. Bah! Or I'll be dreaming I'm asleep but that I keep waking up for some other reason (last night it was because I was sleeping outside but water was leaking from somewhere and kept pooling on a corner of my duvet...o_0) and guess what? Yeh, I keep waking up. The only dream like this I don't mind is the one where I'm dreaming I'm asleep and I'm really warm and comfortable. That's the only dream I wake up from feeling well rested :)
Unsurprisingly, I'm off to bed now for an early night :P

seriously, have you thought of just going to the gp's sooner and getting something to help you sleep at the same time? I don't advise this lightly, having veritable quacks rather than drs inhabiting our surgery...
Of course, there are herbal cures like Lavender or Valerian. Or gin!
Best wishes for your health hun *very big hug*
