OMGOMGOMG!! Alan Gordon's new book is out NOW! OMGOMGYAYY SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! *ransacks amazon, orders book* So I'll have to live on baked beans on toast and soup for a month, it'll be worth it, dammit. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

Kitty cat is being remarkably good natured about the eye drops, if rather sulky. 3 doses so far (1 drop in each eye) and no scratches for me :)

Work was so boring today, I wanted to stab my eyes out with a spork. Roll on the long weekend.

Highlight of day - very, very jammy/creamy sponge cake, courtesy of BigBouncy, whose birthday is next week but she'll be away, so we get birthday goodies this week instead :) Mmmm cake. Is there a more luscious combination than jam and cream? Seriously, if you ever want to make my day, just get me a cake loaded with jam and cream, I'll be a happy mousey. (If there's chocolate too, I might die of joy.)

Goodness, how have you missed me squeeing about Alan Gordon before? Clearly I need to try harder ;) Have a link to Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Larks-Lament-Alan-Gordon/dp/0312354266/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-2495296-9987340?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1179867388&sr=1-1) (there's no reviews on the uk site yet)

Ahhh, I remember you mentioning the books, I just hadn't twigged on the author :) Sweet!

They are! Go and read them all at once :) Try and read them in order if you can but I'd avoid "Antic Disposition". It's got a lot of the series character's background but given that it's based on Hamlet, you know what's gonna happen and to whom and it's depressing as hell. All the others though, I can't praise highly enough. Fantastic historical detail, rollicking good mysteries, insights into medieval politics, and best of all, wonderful characters you'll adore :)

Well, that definitely ticks most of the boxes on the "Trampledamage guide to good books" list! I'll see if the library have any :o)

Love the icon!

Why a spork, particularly? Just curious... ;-)
