Criminal Minds fans..

...have you heard the news that Mandy Patinkin has quit? Apparently it came completely out of the blue and it wasn't about money. General consensus from those that have worked with him before is "Not surprised, really, he's done it before."

So they'll be recasting and bringing someone new in. I liked Mandy but he wasn't the sole reason I watched the show so I'm easy about him leaving. Be interesting to see who they DO bring in though.

I just saw that on CBC. Huh. I enjoy the show, but I fear Mandy was a big part of that enjoyment for me. Well, I'll wait & see who they bring in before I make any decisions. I'm not a really regular viewer, anyway, as the station that airs it here tends to shuffle it around the schedule so much that I never know when it's on. Ah, the joys of the reality-show-based television scheduling system...

The premise is the same so if they bring in a strong lead, it should still be good :)

True--after all, how many cast changes has "Law & Order" been through? ;-)

Hee, very true :) I just caught the first episode of Season 15 last night, first time I've seen Denis Farina. Not bad, I could get used to him. Course, I'm about 2 seasons behind anyway :)

Enjoy him while you've got him--he left at the end of that season, I think. Green was partnered with a woman last I saw.

yeppers, had heard that. The Ausiello Report has kept up w/ it with posts plus what was said at the CBS upfronts this week.

Yeh, I heard it first there too :) I love Ausiello :)

Ah well - he was good, but so were most of the other cast. I know at least one person with a thing for Reed, and another who's rather keen on Morgan. Hopefully they'll be able to pull it off with a simple reassignment type thing - especially if they retain the rest of the cast.

'zactly what I'm thinking.

mmmmmm Morgan mmmmmmmm *goes to her happy place*

Maybe they wouldn't let him sing? (Which is a damn good thing as far as I'm concerned, though I know others that love his singing)

Yes, he quit Chicago Hope similarly abruptly and mid-contract. Assuming they don't get anyone dreadful in to replace him, then it'll still be a good show. Although I'm a huge Mandy fan, he's not the main draw of this show for me. It's a very successful essemble show, so I think it will easily survive the loss of him, as indeed did Chicago Hope.
