Blimey, I didn't realise I hadn't updated for a week. Doesn't the time go quickly?
Not that I've had much to post about, as my week has consisted of work, loaf, eat, sleep which isn't exactly riveting :) But I do have a couple of snippets to post.
One is I checked out how many days holiday I have accrued at the moment and it turns out I have seven whole days! Woooo! I thought I had like 2 at the most. This is good as it means I can take a week off and have a proper re-charge of the ol' batteries. I've had only two days off as proper holiday all year. The three I had in June were to help
alissamora move in and were totally exhausting and although I had a long weekend to recover, it's not the same as having a whole week. I had one long weekend just before the schools came back in September and that's been it. All the other times I've been off, I've been sick. So yeh, need a break. I'm currently hoping
jenni411 can be lured over for a few days :D
The other news is I've been watching the casting of the new Star Trek movie with great interest and it's been confirmed that Karl Urban has been cast as Bones. This thrills me for a number of reasons. One is that I think he can nail McCoy, there just enough resemblance that he's not wildly unacceptable as a younger version of the character and I can just hear him doing the voice. The other is as a long time fan of Xena, I still get a huge kick out of seeing guest stars from that show do well. I've always said I thought Karl would and could go on to be a movie star as I really think he has the acting chops for it. For those that can't place him, he was Eomer in LotR (TT and RotK) and the evil Russian assassin in The Bourne Supremacy. (Aside - His very first role in Xena, as the zealot brother Mael in S1's Altared States, caught my eye and I've been championing him ever since. Plus I got to meet him at a Xena convention and I can assure you he's a gracious and charming chap :)) All the other casting looks solid and this, for me, is the icing on the cake. I'm really looking forward to the movie.
This weekend is all about the sport. I'm currently watching the Merseyside Derby between Everton and Liverpool and later it's the Rugby World Cup Final. C'MON ENGLAND!! Hmm. Maybe I should post apologetic notes about the noise to my neighbours in advance? :D

*grins happily* He was jet lagged as all hell, having flown in from NZ just that day and he was stuck in a room with 100 dedicated Xenites where he had to be sociable and charming. None of us would have blamed him for being a bit quieter than normal but he was great. Now, for total jerks, I'd have to vote for Robert Trebor. *mutters a bit*

(It's not actually a bad film, as action flicks go. As long as you don't examine the plot too carefully...)
