I appeal to my knowledgeable flist because Google has failed me and I have no idea where to look now.

Waaay back in the mists of time, at middle school to be precise, we studied a song in music class. Now, those that know and love me can attest that I have no musical ability whatsoever, but I loved this song deeply. So much I even borrowed the music book to copy out the lyrics, so at least I could sing the song in my head, where obviously I'm always in tune and note perfect :D

That was many years ago, the title of the song and where it came from has long gone and all I'm left with is a nearly complete set of lyrics. Searching for these lyrics online has failed over the past few years to yield any results at all. So now I paste them here in the hopes it'll ring a bell for someone. I'd really like to find a recording of this, but I'll settle for solving the mystery of the lines I am missing :) It's an operatic type of song, lots of ridiculously high notes, but beyond that I know notheeeng.

Winter is over, the snow melts away
Sweet Spring comes with gladness.
Sunshine falls warm on the young hawthorn spray;
I walk with my sadness.
Waters once frozen are flowing to the sea,
The rivers are roaring.
All that I love for the last time comes to me,
My dear larks are soaring.
Though I must pass yet the clear voice of a bird
Welcomes a newcomer.
He will rejoice in the songs that I have heard
Of sunlight and summer.

Spring brought me home to deep valleys of green
Which banished my sorrow.
Here I was happy and since that has been,
I fear no tomorrow.
All lovely flowers at my careless feet are spread,
To pluck at my pleasure.
Yet now they seem precious spirits of the dead,
To bless and to treasure.

Not even a little bit of a clue, I'm afraid. You could try asking at something like this place

I have absolutely no idea but I could try asking my mother, she's pretty knowledgable about songs.

This song was sung to the music by Grieg, Last Spring. Find it on TouTube.
It was my favourite in Junior school.
