In the books, the Doctor had an adopted daughter, Miranda. She was a refugee from the future - the last of her race, and may or may not have been a Time Lord (two hearts, lower body temperature).
In a very twisted plot, she turned up near the end of the sequence, with a daughter in tow - Susan. Susan later went off with an old alien how had shape-changed into the form of a tall old man with long white hair, whom she called "Grandfather".
I'm sure that Russelty is aware of none of the above, though.

I would be very surprised if he gave a crap about the books.

Oh, and your knowledge of the Dr Who books never ceases to amaze and frighten me :)

It consistently annoys me that, barring The Film and certain CIN-related efforts, "Doctor Who" was off the air for over a decade. It was the books and later the audios that kept the flame burning. They drew on the established ideas of the TV series, and took them in new directions.
Then the BBC (who'd already ruined a perfectly good plot arc for one publisher) decided to start it again, and they're cherry-picking elements of continuity. Oi, BBC - YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!</rant>
On a lighter note, there was a time when someone could grab one of the books at random, read a line or two and I'd tell them which book it was, what was going on and what would happen next :D

It's all right, we've known about it for months XD

I suspect that's not going to help :P

Probably not but we're all looking forward to see if the current theory about the series arc is true. We got it right last year - we knew Saxon was the Master a month before the series started airing!
And I just think it's cool she's played by Georgia Moffat (Peter Davison's daughter).

*looks left*
*looks right*

Is this the theory that holds that Donna is the Evil?

No - the theory is that the three girls have to unite to save the Doctor from a very, very old and persistent enemy. I can't wait to see if it's true :D
